What must be verified

Each current download needs an exact platform and architecture, version, byte size, SHA-256, current-source manifest, platform signing status and clean-install/runtime proof. A CLI-only artifact is not a desktop application. No package is labeled current or latest until its catalog entry and artifact match.

Why an old checksum is not enough

An integrity checksum only identifies bytes. It does not prove that an older package includes current security, activation or shutdown fixes. Do not use the September preview to validate current pairing, trial activation or commercial enforcement.

What each surface can do

The desktop runs local workflows. The Web workspace provides account, billing and synced records; it does not run desktop effects by itself. Encrypted managed sync is implemented. Remote execution and mobile controllers are planned, not yet available in a verified public desktop release.
